The River Sheaf

... is one of four that join the Don in the environs of Sheffield; and it's the one that gives the city its name.

The other three tributaries of the Don are the Loxley, the Porter Brook, and the Rivelin. It's the abundance of water flowing down from Sheffield's seven hills that made it an ideal centre for steel production.
